Finally after a few rumors, a few teaser from Toyota, the new generation of Toyota Highlander mid-size SUV was released to the public. The new generation combines a sleek exterior look with a refined, premium interior and a new six-speed automatic with sequential shift on V-6 models.

With its new exterior look, the new Highlander tries to combine both refinement and strength,. Helping achieve this is an interior that offers three-row seating that carries up to eight passengers. The model offers design elements we have already seen in the RAV4, like the redesigned trapezoidal grille, wraparound headlamps and the new hood.

Customers still have to choose between a four-cylinder or a V-6 powertrain, while those interested in fuel consumption can also opt for the hybrid powertrain.

The new-generation Highlander offers the same design language we saw in the fourth generation RAV4. The model grew in length by about 3 inches and in width by 1/2-inch.

Up front, the new Highlander gets a redesigned trapezoidal grille, wraparound headlamps and deeply chiseled fenders. When viewed from the side, you will notice sculptured wheel wells at the corners. The rear receives a newly designed rear lift-gate with one-touch power open and close, and driver-selectable memory height settings.

On the inside, the new Highlander is offers enough room for up to eight people, plus an impressive array of standard comfort, convenience and technology features.

Each model will be offered with a soft-touch instrument panel and silver-painted, satin, and chrome-plated accents. Wood insertions can be found on the front dash and door trim, while available perforated leather-trim seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob offer the Highlander a more luxurious feeling.

Land Rover is introducing their new model for this year. It is standard Land Rover model but with more updated specification and the new 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is born. The Sport model will be all about the reduction of weight. For that, Land Rover has paid extra attention to the materials used to construct the vehicle. The most most important addition is an all-new, first-in-class aluminum architecture that helps save an amazing 420 kg (925 pounds).

The new Range Rover Sport will be put on sale in the third quarter of 2013. Customers will have the possibility to choose between four equipment levels: S, SE, HSE and Autobiography.

The new Range Rover Sport features the current model’s strong design DNA, but adds it a sleek and contemporary appearance. When compared to a standard Range Rover, the new Sport version is 149 mm (5.86 inches) shorter, 55 mm (2.16 inches) lower and weights 45kg (99 pounds) less.

When viewed from the front, the new Range Rover Sport features a more modern, streamlined appearance with slimmer lights, rearward-sloping grille and more sculpted corners. Other design elements of the Sport version include a two-bar theme, for the twin strakes on the fender vents, the two bar front grille and the twin lines in the tail lamp graphics.

The same sophisticated and modern appearance continues on the interior where Land Rover offers the highest quality materials, with carefully selected colors and textures.

When compared to the previous generation, the new Range Rover Sport’s center console is mounted higher, allowing the driver to access the controls more easily. The center stack features striking satin chrome pillars and numerous aluminum accents.

When the new Range Rover Sport hits the market, customers will have a choice of four different engines: two gasoline units and two diesel units. Later in the year, Land Rover will also add a 4.4-liter SDV8 diesel engine with an output of 339 horsepower. In 2014 customers will also get a high-efficiency diesel Hybrid model.

The top trim level is powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 supercharged engine that delivers a total of 510 horsepower and sprints the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Next, there is the 3.0-liter V-6 supercharged engine – a first for the Range Rover Sport. It delivers a total of 340 horsepower and sprints the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds.

Diesel fans will have two possibilities. First is an ultra-efficient 3.0-liter V-6 turbo diesel offered in two versions: a 258 horsepower TDV6 and 292 horsepower SDV6. The TDV6 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and the SDV6 does the same in just 6.8 seconds.

This year Kia has introduce their latest model at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, the new 2014 Kia Forte Koup SX. With the debut of this new performance-minded model, Kia is hoping to give buyers interested in a Kia Forte a much sportier option. This model will have a more aggressive appearance and promises better performance to back up the looks. With this new performance-oriented model, Kia’s gunning for other sporty coupes from Europe and Japan.

The more powerful engine in the SX model should lead to a better 0-to-60 mph time. Because of the added power, the new model will require bigger brakes that will be housed by enlarged wheels that help fill out the wheel arches nicely. The more aggressive styling combined with the better performance seems to add up to a pretty impressive model.

The 2014 Kia Forte Koup SX offers sportier styling with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights and dual chrome exhaust tailpipes. A slightly aggressive look is all courtesy of faux carbon-fiber trim pieces, a bigger front bumper, larger grille openings and gloss black grille inserts. The exterior definitely exudes the aura of aggression and sportiness that this high-output Forte deserves.

The Honda Civic SI offers 201 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque which should land the Kia Forte Koup SX right in this territory. The Honda Civic has been around for a number of years and has a good reputation for dependability. The styling of the Honda Civic SI is restrained, but a bit more aggressive than the standard Honda Civic.
